The language that everyone understands...

Have you ever felt the need to escape from the day-to-day routine? To shut all the doors and simply switch off? To live just for the moment? To make life cosy by candlelight, with a glass of wine? Or simply to listen to soothing, meaningful music for an hour?

I can fulfil all these needs with my debut CD.

I am a young woman whose passion it is to touch people's hearts with the music of the oboe. Music is one of the most powerful languages in our world and the sound of this unusual and, unfortunately,

rather rare instrument is both magical and forceful for me. With my debut CD, 'La Oboissima', one has a mix of some of the most well-known, romantic melodies as well as the not-so-well-known but no less moving works. In this way, I want to try to make oboe music more popular.

I am convinced that, once your heart has been touched by the oboe's captivating sensuousness and beauty, it will remain the love of a lifetime.

Born in 1987

Fanny Kloevekorn was born in Hamburg in 1987. She started learning how to play the oboe at the age of seven, taught by her mother, Ulla Maiwald-Kloevekorn. As a young person she regularly took part in various competitions, among these 'Jugend musiziert' (Young People Make Music), where she won several prizes, such as, for example, the first prize nationwide in 2004. In the same year she was discovered by her future mentor, Professor Diethelm Jonas and moved as a juvenile student to his class in the Musikhochschule in Lübeck (Lübeck School of Music), where she remained until she took her final BA examination. In 2006 she won a further nationwide prize in the 'Jugend musiziert' competition, as well as the

NDR Symphony Orchestra Special Prize for outstanding solo performances and was presented with the 'Christa Knauer Trophy'. In summer 2010 she moved for two semesters to the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Lyon (Lyon Conservatory) where, under the tutelage of Prof. Jean-Louis Capezzali, Prof. Jérôme Guichard and Fabien Thouand (Solo Oboist of La Scala Milan) she was able to set new accents in

her musical development. On returning to Lübeck, she obtained her Bachelor of Music degree with top results in the summer of 2012. Since October 2012 she has continued her studies in the Hochschule für Musik 'Franz Liszt' Weimar (Franz Liszt Music School in Weimar), studying with Prof. Matthias Bäcker, where in 2015 she obtained her Master's degree in Music with distinction. At present she is taking concert examinations, which should be completed in 2017. From April 2014 to January 2015 she was Solo Oboist of the Schleswig-Holstein Landestheater & Sinfonieorchester (the Schleswig-Holstein Theatre and Symphony Orchestra) in Flensburg. In 2015 and 2016 her travels took her even further

2017 she won several prizes in the 4th Barbirolli International Oboe Festival and Competition in England: "The Tertis Foundation Prize" und "The Faber Music Publishers Prize for the best performance of Collin Matthews "Figures Suspended".
